harnwood U3ACharnwood U3A was founded in 1996. It started by popular demand, growing out of Loughborough U3A. The starting membership was 145 and is now more than 600.
Charnwood U3A is a registered charity and is affiliated to the Third Age Trust (see the Links Page via the menu to the left of this page).

For an annual subscription of £12 (2008) Members enjoy: a monthly meeting with a speaker (followed by a cup of tea and lively conversation), 4 editions of our magazine Charnwood Chat, access to our interest and activities groups (some of which involve a small extra cost) and our monthly information sheet Update.
Most U3A activities take place in subject groups. At present there are over 60 groups. The groups within Charnwood U3A can be viewed by following this link.
Charnwood U3A has a general meeting once a month where a brief business meeting is followed by the main business of hearing an invited speaker. These meetings are held at Burleigh Community College. Thorpe Hill, Loughborough. By clicking on this link you can see a map of the area showing where Thorpe Hill is.
The affairs of Charnwood U3A are conducted by the Committee which is elected annually.
