English Parish Churches Group
We study churches in this country, their history, furnishings and development through the centuries. This is not a theological group, rather a group for those interested in the superb heritage we have all around us. Topics include architecture, history, religious symbolism and how to 'read' and understand churches so that, hopefully, members will be able to enjoy exploring for themselves a little more.
The group meets monthly on the second Tuesday afternoon of the month: from October through to April for a talk at Quorn Church Rooms [opposite The Quorndon Fox]. Doors open at 1.30 for a 2pm start and the meetings end at about 4pm with a break for refreshments halfway through. Visits to churches are arranged from May to September.
